TMX Group Celebrates Support for Canada's Paralympic Curling Program

Toronto, On (March 2nd, 2007) - The Canadian Paralympic Foundation is very excited to announce that the TMX Group has made a four-year commitment to promote Paralympic curling for Canadians who are in wheelchairs or who have vision loss. Their generous donation of $400,000 will directly support a country-wide program to introduce and sustain Paralympic curling from the grassroots and community levels to regional and national competitions.

"We see this as our way of providing grassroots support to this sport," said Richard Nesbitt, CEO of TMX Group.  "We hope we can raise awareness for a truly Canadian sport and encourage people with disabilities to enjoy this great game. Our staff and customers will no doubt have great fun rooting for our Canadian team."

TMX Group’s funding will add immeasurably to participation levels and excellence in curling. TMX has shown vision and imagination in extending their philanthropic support to the many thousands of Canadians who have vision loss or are in wheelchairs. In addition, by helping to broaden the critical mass of curlers, coaches and local competitions, this donation will help to ensure Canada’s curling success in both the Vancouver 2010 and subsequent Paralympic Winter Games.
